Welcome to Time For Us To Cook. A place where I share simple
and delicious everyday recipes. I have spent over the last 30 years in
corporate America and decided it was time for a change.
My passion for cooking started as a little girl growing up
with my grandmother. She was a true artisan of her craft of cooking. A daily morning
walk to the market always yielded the freshest ingredients. During the summer
months the walk was shorter as it was right out the back door to her own
garden. A garden filled with a host of fresh fruits and vegetables. Her cooking
was simple, delicious, and filled with love. I can’t remember a day that the
house wasn’t filled with aromatic bliss. Everything in our house was made from
scratch with love.
Weekends at our house were filled with family and friends
all marveling at her delicious food. My mom loved to bake and explore cooking
from other cultures around the world. So
needless to say food flowed like wine in our house.
As I grew up I shared the same passion to create wonderful
delicious food. With my own family we continue the traditions of Sunday dinner.
My two daughters got the bug as well. My youngest was in the kitchen with me
since the time she was 4. Cutting, mixing, and of course sampling. She would
pop out of bed at the first rustling in the kitchen to make sure she was in on
all the action. She is one to be reckoned with in the kitchen. My oldest
daughter shares the passion which blossomed when she went away to college. My
husband shares the passion for eating. So we have a well-rounded crew.
Every Sunday we host family and friends to share good food,
wine, and love. Many of my dishes you see on this site are a product of our
Sunday dinners.
