These beans are a delish side for any meal. They are a one pot stove top version of traditional baked beans. They are loaded with flavor and always a favorite. Everyone will ask you for the recipe.
Ingredients
Bacon 1 lb.
Onions - 2 large

Brown sugar -1/3 cup
White vinegar - 1/4 cup
Dry mustard - 1 tsp.
Pork and beans - 4 cans

Pork and beans - 4 cans
Navy or cannelloni beans -1 can
Black beans - 1 can
Butter beans - 1 can
Preparation
Start by cutting your bacon in about 2 inch squares. Add to sauce pot and fry until crispy. While your bacon is cooking chop your onions the size is all your preference. Once the bacon is crisp drain off the majority of oil but not all. Add the onions to the pan and cook until the onions a translucent.
Next you will add your beans. Do not drain. Stir well and cook for about 5 minutes. Then add your brown sugar, vinegar, and dry mustard and mix well.
Low simmer the mixture for about 2 hours until you have some nice thickness to the dish. Be sure to stir frequently. You don't want it to stick to the bottom of the pan or burn.
That's it. This does make a pretty big batch so it's great when your having a crowd.
