Add your spices to the meat and mix well. At this point I like to add about 3/4 of a cup of jarred salsa and finish cooking.
While your meat is cooking chop your onions, tomato, and cilantro. Plate those to serve as your toppings. Plate your grated cheese and the remainder of your salsa.
In a separate frying pan coat with oil and lightly fry your tortilla shells. For tonight I used corn tortilla's but you can use any type. The carb friendly shells work just as well and have a nice light crispness when fried.
Serving
Spoon your meat into a shallow bowl next to your toppings and let your family and friends add the toppings of their liking.
Other great toppings you may enjoy might be guacamole, sour cream, fresh jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, or queso. Really anything goes.
This recipe serves 6-8.
Pair with a nice cold beverage and enjoy.
Enjoy!
