Caramelized Brussel Sprouts

So easy and delicious for all of the brussel sprout lovers out there! This wonderful side dish comes
together very quickly.

Ingredients
Brussel sprouts - one package fresh or frozen
Olive oil - 1- 2 TBSP
Honey - 2 Tsp
Salt
Pepper

Preparation
Rinse your brussel
sprouts and cut them in half lengthwise.

In a medium size frying pan add your olive oil. Start out over medium heat add your sprouts and with salt and pepper. Cover for about 15 minutes to let them become tender. Stirring occasionally.

Remove the lid and turn up the heat. Cook all of the water and steam out. Drizzle your honey and a bit more olive oil over them and continue cooking until they become caramelized or slightly charred. Continue stirring occasionally so they don't stick or burn. This usually takes another 10 - 15 minutes. But this really depends on your particular taste for the doneness and the crispiness.

Variations
This works as a side dish for any meal. It's great if you are following a low carb lifestyle. Depending where you are in your journey you can feel free to eliminate the honey. They are delicious with or without. Today I paired them with chicken but also great with pork or beef. If you like a little extra flavor you can add bacon or pancetta. You would add this at the beginning and cook about half way before adding the sprouts.

Enjoy!
