No Bean Chilli

What's better than a nice pot of chilli as the temperature starts to drop!

This is a simple and delicious meal you can put together that always a pleaser. Since we aren't adding any beans to this chilli it is also a carb friendly meal.

Ingredients
Ground chuck - 3 lbs
Peppers sweet  - 2 large
Peppers hot ( Jalapeno or Banana) 1 - 2 depending on your preference for heat
Tomato - 1 can diced
Salsa - 1 small jar
Tomato Sauce - 1 1/2 cups
Onion - 1 large
Garlic - 2 cloves
Chilli powder - 2 Tablespoons heaping
Cumin - 1 Teaspoon
Salt & Pepper - to taste

Preparation
In a large frying pan saute your meat until brown. Add salt and pepper along with a few shakes of chilli powder. Once the meat is browned using a slotted spoon transfer meat to a large saucepan.

Chop your onions and peppers. Since I am not using beans I like to use a rough chop so the dish has some added texture.

Using the same frying pan with the grease remaining saute your onions and peppers until slightly tender. Again using a slotted spoon transfer to the pan with your meat.

Over medium heat add your tomato and spices to your pot. Cook for about 30 minutes on medium heat. Be sure to stir often.  Then reduce to low and add the tomato sauce.

Cook on low for about 2-3 hours until all the ingredients are fully cooked and the flavors have come together.

Variations
If you like beans add them.  If you don't like it spicy remove the hot peppers. Short on time put everything in the crockpot and let it do all the cooking for you. I will say though you may want to still brown your meat separately to reduce the amount of grease in your final dish.

Top with some cheddar cheese, green onion, some jalapeno,  sour cream, or whatever you like.

Serve with some tortilla chips or nice crusty bread if your not worried about the carbs.

Enjoy!
